Papervision3D Tutorials updated
Posted by Dennis on Aug 23, 2007 in 3D, ActionScript, Flash, Flex • 3 commentsMy Papervision3D tutorials were too Flex-specific so I made some changes to them. I got lots of comments from Flash developers who were having trouble with the code, so time was nigh for some updates! I also changed the repository URL to point to the new location on Google Code. Enjoy!

Regarding the rotation - yes agreed; It’ll probably all be done differently, and with buttons. These were just quick demos to show the boss ( in a “please give me some R&D time to play with PV3D†kind of way ).
Those buildings are indeed a bit glitchy but I think it’s more to do with my Blender models - most likely some export option. I tried sub-dividing the mesh and turning quads to triangles, but that didn’t sort it. I’ve seen other demos which don’t suffer from the glitchyness. It appears that most people on the list come from a 3D background and use proprietary software (3DSMax and the like). All the guys I’ve spoken to who use Blender seem to be new to it, so we’re fumbling around in the dark a bit.
It seems the “Papervision3D tutorial from the ground up” link is broken…
yes, the correct url would be:
